The Green Bay Packers released their brief Week 4 Injury Report

The Green Bay Packers are riding into their week 4 home game against the New England Patriots off the high of last Sunday’s victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Today, the team released its final injury report ahead of Sunday’s game, a brief one, at that, which should have Packers fans elated:

  • CB Jaire Alexander (Groin) – Questionable
  • T Caleb Jones (Illness) – Out

The first thing to note: Bakhtiari and Jenkins are both clear of designations! Particularly for Bakhtiari, this is an extremely promising development for both players. We’ll see how many snaps Bakhtiari ends up playing on Sunday, but the hope is that it’s closer to 100% unless the Packers blow the doors off a depleted Patriots roster.

Also exciting for Green Bay Packers fans is the return of rookie WR Christian Watson, who missed last week’s game with a hamstring injury. The team sorely missed his explosive speed against the Bucs and his presence is important against a Patriots defense that, under the coaching of Bill Belichick, likes to take away an offense’s 1st option, which in the Green & Gold’s case is their run game. Having Watson back will give the Patriots pause about putting 8 defenders in the box and squatting on short routes.

All eyes will be on Star CB Jaire Alexander, who is listed as “questionable” for this week’s game. While it’s highly promising for the team that he was able to make it through the week, the Green Bay Packers shouldn’t need Alexander to win this game and should consider resting him this week to give his groin an extra 7 days off, especially with the trip to London coming up next week.

Rookie UDFA Caleb Jones will, unfortunately, miss Sunday’s game with an illness. Jones’ absence may pave the way for fellow rookie Sean Rhyan’s first time on the gameday active roster.

Follow along with Game on Wisconsin, as we’ll have the weekly roster transactions posted tomorrow and the Gameday Inactive List (~1:55pm CST) on Sunday for your reference. Go Pack Go!
