The Green Bay Packers held their Week 4 padded practice on Thursday as they prepare for the Patriots.

The Green Bay Packers returned to the practice field and held their weekly padded session. Head Coach Matt LaFleur confirmed prior to practice that RT Elgton Jenkins would participate after getting a day off yesterday while Bakhtiari will rest today.

The Packers saw a similar participation report as yesterday’s practice, with the main change being the swap of participation between the Tackles:

We’ll see what the injury report states in terms of Alexander’s participation, as Wes Hodkiewicz noted Alexander was indeed in pads, but don’t be surprised if he’s given the day off and possibly inactive on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers are very cautious with soft tissue injuries, and fans need to look no further back than Damarious Randall’s 2016 season for an example of what happens if a groin injury is not handled cautiously.

It’s great to see Watson string two practices together after missing last week’s game due to a hamstring injury. The Green Bay Packers missed Watson’s explosive speed last week as the Bucs disregarded any Jet motion looks the Packers threw at them. Watson is also needed to stretch defenses vertically, particularly with Watkins on IR and Juwann Winfree already down to his last Practice Squad Gameday Elevation for the year.

Hopefully, today’s missed practice is simply Lewis’ weekly day off. The team can’t afford to lose Lewis for any period of time as the remaining TEs on the roster lack even half the in-line blocking prowess brings to the field in his 17th season. Lewis looked mortal on Sunday, particularly as the game wore on, so hopefully, an even lighter practice load in the coming weeks will help his recovery move along.

Game on Wisconsin will continue to bring you practice participation updates (including updating this post with the official injury report when it is released later today) and will have the inactive list for you 90 minutes before kickoff on Sunday.

The official injury report shed some extra light on the Green Bay Packers’ injury situation ahead of Sunday:

The report confirm’s Schneidman’s previous post that Alexander was only involved in the stretch portion of practice. Alexander’s availability remains cloudy at best for Sunday, though it may be in the Packer’s best long-term view to give him a week off to make sure that groin is as healthy as possible.

The Green Bay Packers did get some good news with RB AJ Dillon, LB Jonathan Garvin, and WR Christian Watson all being upgraded from LP’s on Wednesday to FP’s today. This bodes well for all three players’ availability come Sunday.
