The Green Bay Packers started Day 3 by taking a receiver to help Aaron Rodgers and to pair with fellow rookie teammate Christian Watson, Now, with their second pick of the day, they bulk up the offensive line.

It was all about the defense in the first round, but the Packers have shifted their attention to the offense as they selected another offensive lineman Zach Tom out of Wake Forest. This isn’t the first offensive lineman for the Packers as they ended Day 2 with third-round pick Sean Rhyan.

Tom, 6-5, 296 pounds, can play anywhere along the offensive line. In 2018 and 2019, the 23-year-old played 25 games at center, then in 2020 and 2021, he played left tackle for the Demon Deacons.

He appeared in 48 games over the course of his career, making 37 starts including all 36 over the last three seasons. Tom has played in 3,107 snaps and has given up two sacks.

In 2021, Tom was named to the All-American second team by Phil Steele of The Athletic and the Football Writers Association of America. He ended up receiving All-ACC honors and was voted the Jim Tatum Award winner, which is given to the top senior athlete among the league’s football players.

According to PFF, he has the highest pass-blocking grade at 92.1 percent of any FBS offensive lineman who has played over 25 snaps. Tom played more than 1,000 snaps in 2021 and graded out with a 94% on the season. He was the highest pass-blocking offensive tackle at 92.1% of any FBS offensive lineman.
