Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari suffered what is reportedly a torn ACL in practice on Thursday and will likely miss the rest of this season.
The #Packers have options to replace him, though it’s impossible to replace the All-Pro. Among the candidates: RT Billy Turner, versatile OL Elgton Jenkins, and OT Rick Wagner. https://t.co/lINaSJKEc3

The news stings as the Packers are just days from a big matchup against the Chicago Bears on Sunday in which they can secure the NFC’s top seed with a win. A loss to Chicago would likely drop Green Bay to the 3rd seed, although there are scenarios in which they would be the 2 seed.
The Packers played three games without Bakhtiari this season, going 2-1 in those games so this situation is not totally new although preparing to face the best that the conference has to offer is certainly a different beast to tackle.
The Packers will be without one of their most important players on the field but Bakhtiari’s presence will still exist in the locker room and on the sideline. As one of the heart-and-soul veterans on this team, expect him to work to rally the team as they head into a playoff run in which many have the Packers as a favorite to advance to the Super Bowl.
