Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has indicated that he will be returning to the Packers this season and only this season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Rodgers and the Packers have been working together over the weekend to rework a deal that will give the reigning MVP a say in his future for 2022 and 2023.

The two sides are expected to come to an agreement shortly. The deal will have his 2023 season voided, with no tags allowed in the future. The Packers would agree to review Rodgers’ situation at the end of the season.

Rodgers’ contract would be adjusted with no loss of income to give to the Packers more cap room now. Mechanisms will be put in place to address Rodgers’ issues with the team.

The agreement to “review” the situation after the season implies that the Packers will trade Rodgers if he still feels the way he has about the Packers’ culture and decision-making.

Over the weekend, Rodgers and star wide receiver Davante Adams posted on their Instagram story a photo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen indicating that it would be their “Last Dance” in Green Bay. As of now, it seems like Rodgers and the Packers are heading down that road.
