Green Bay Packers receiver Allen Lazard is having a core injury assessed by a specialist and may need surgery, according to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.
Noted core muscle specialist Dr. William Meyers will look at Allen Lazard’s scans and will determine the next course of action (surgery or recovery) for the Packers WR, sources said. Obviously not a good sign for Lazard coming off his career best game. https://t.co/b8z7ZKZpuz

The Packers are likely to be down Lazard for Monday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Davante Adams has been practicing so far this week and could return to action after missing last week’s game vs the New Orleans Saints.
The Packers’ active roster currently consists of Adams, Lazard, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Malik Taylor and Shepherd.
Shepherd was elevated from the practice squad just last week to add more depth at receiver with Adams out. Earlier today, the Packers also added receiver Juwann Winfree to their practice squad. Winfree was a sixth-round draft pick of the Denver Broncos last season.
Among other practice squad options for the Packers at receiver are Reggie Begelton, Caleb Foster and Robert Foster.
